Happy New Year!

Wow! What a year! Beginning of 2013 took me to Costa Rica and Nicaragua which seemed to so far away now. Funny how time puts distance on things. Both good and bad.

I learned a lot in 2013. It was a reflective, spiritual, bittersweet year and I cried…a lot but also some very happy laughs were in there somewhere. I am not quite sure why I am using past tense, it’s still 2013 for me at this moment, but the moment is fleeting. I may at any moment, put on my shoes and walk outside to join thousands in anticipating the new year and fireworks. On second thought, maybe not. 🙂

Earlier tonight, I made a simple dinner for the two of us to enjoy. And we shared a Blue Moon beer. Contrary to what a lot of people are doing today, we opted to stay in. (Yes, I can be a cheap date.) I am enjoying this current moment, and the irony did not escape me that while everyone’s celebrating outside, I am very happy to be inside. I don’t feel that I need to be anywhere exciting or… And definitely no champagne toast for us because we hope to be asleep by then. I can have champagne with brunch this Sunday if we wish. Lol.

That’s a great feeling. Not to have to conform or be rushing to do things that others are doing. Yes, the travel itch is still there even though I don’t yet know where I may be blogging from in a few months, but I am satisfied to not plan so far ahead. It’s nice to spend time with love ones here and now.

I envision 2014 to be a year of new discoveries. (Isn’t every year a new discovery?) Both at home and perhaps in new travels. What about you? Any exciting plans you wish to share?

Wishing you all a safe and amazing new year! xx
