Weeks and weeks ago, we celebrated a certain man’s birthday. 😉 So we went to Chaya Brasserie. Chaya serves French/Japanese inspired fare and we went there for brunch.
LIKE: Location (near the Embarcadero facing the water), great fries and fresh sashimi, blood orange lemonade, and they do a bottomless $12 mimosas on Sunday from 11 am – 2 pm)
DON’T LIKE: Seared Kobe Beef Roll. While being one of the most expensive items on the menu ($23.50), it just wasn’t very impressive. Looks great to photograph though. Maybe we are just not into Kobe beef because we had it a few times in the past and never really like it. Service just seems okay that day, our waiter seemed to have disappeared, but the host was friendly.
MIXED FEELINGS: Sunday Angus Beef Burger. He thought the burger was rather salty. I only had a bite, but did like that it has a poached egg on top. Yum.
WOULD WE GO BACK? Sure, if we have friends who like the bottomless mimosa deal for Sunday brunch, it’s great! May try their other dishes and maybe even dinner one day.
