One thing that’s more miss than hit is airport food. In my experience, most airport food doesn’t taste that great. Some are more gimmicky than others, but mostly, food is not very good tasting but still tre expensive. Also, depending on the airport, you may not have much choice.
So imagine my surprise when we tried the Roasted Porchetta at Tyler Florence‘s Napa Farms Market in SFO and really LIKE it.
This porchetta sandwich plate is no diet food, and it’s very tasty. G like it but didn’t like the bread. I thought the sandwich tasted great. Especially like the crunch of the crispy skin. It’s really a fatty, melt-in-your mouth type of sandwich. And looking at the servers while they prepared the sandwich will make you salivate and wag your tail like a puppy dog, assuming you are a puppy dog of course. 😉 ha ha.
If you don’t want to eat that sandwich for whatever reason, there’s plenty of options like roasted chicken or salads there, too. Because we feel bad (not that bad) about eating so much fat, we got some healthier sides. Or so we like to think… We picked a side of asparagus (crunchy and really fresh) and an extra side of chickpeas (a tad spicy). All delicious~
Summary: Service was wonderful. Great market. Good and delicious food. On the expensive side but so is everything else in the airport.

Yeah, the prices are awful. There is one place in the San Francisco airport that the food wasn’t too bad. I think it must’ve been Chinese, but I can’t quite remember. In any case I like airport food much better than airplane food.

Frances, sounds like you have been traveling a lot. I haven’t really travel all that much, but in the few that I have been to, SFO really stood out. The other one I like a lot is MSP.
