dinner @ Dong Bei Mama

Dong Bei Fried Pork, Lotus Leaf Fried Rice, and Spinach

Hot, spicy, and delicious! An interesting Chinese food experience from the NorthEast corner of China. Formerly Panda Country Kitchen, this restaurant still keeps some of the items on their extensive menu, but also have Dong Bei specialities that we don’t really see too often in San Francisco. Good place to try when you are hankering for some variation in Chinese food. By the way, the spicy stew has pork’s blood and many other ingredients in it and very, very spicy. And yam noodles on the bottom. There are also non-spicy options on the menu.

Also, when we first arrived at the restaurant, we asked about the interesting name. Turns out it’s more of a colloquialism about a mother or a woman from Dong Bei.

    • Nope, I don’t think so. Most people gets grossed out though, but hey, glad you did not. Lol. If you have ever had it, you will find that it’s got an interesting texture to it. I don’t know where you are, but I am pretty sure there maybe some authentic Chinese places in your area that cooks this. Or you can eat at SF next time you come here. Remember I recommended Burmese food to you last time? Well, it’s in the same neighborhood. Cheers!
