hanging out with the “in-crowd”

giraffe

We recently went to the zoo and visited a lot of animals. Some of the animals there are rehabilitating due to injuries and must live at the zoo because they can no longer stay in wild environments (e.g. an American bald eagle, barn owls, and a rhino), and some, well, they seem to roam around and own the place. I am looking at you, peacocks. I will post more pictures about that later, but here’s a lovely picture of a giraffe… 😉 Isn’t it beautiful?

The zoo also has food vendors that serve some interesting fare. For example, anyone ever tried dippin’ dots?

Aside from ice cream, they also have standard cafe food: hamburgers, hotdogs, and orange chicken. I know orange chicken is not standard cafe food, but this is SF afterall. Lol. Oh, let’s not forget about popcorn and cotton candy. I don’t remember the last time I had cotton candy, but I actually like them when they are freshly made from that spinning thing. Fortunately for me, they were all in a bag here, so I skip the treats and concentrated on taking photos instead.

The SF Zoo is an interesting place to go if you find yourself in the outer Sunset.

Bring a jacket.

  1. I love going to the Bronx Zoo. Its relaxing and it’s a lot of fun. And don’t get me started on how I feel dippin dots is a horrible substitute to my beloved ice cream LOL. I’m happy you had a great time at the zoo.

    • Oh, I have never been to the Bronx Zoo. That sounds like a lot of fun. Lol, those dippin’ dots are interesting. Thanks for commenting on this, I will post more pictures of our zoo visits soon. 🙂
