I took two (soon to be three) interesting tours with Haunted History Tour. They do a fab job of explaining the history and adding in the spook.
I learned this on the tour that Voodoo is a religion that enabled the slaves back in the days to keep their African history and heritage. Not some weird practice.

I think you will be fine. It was actually a lot more history than spook, but it was entertaining nontheless.
