5420 Geary Blvd | San Francisco, CA
The above address reflects Joe’s new location. While they have a lot more space, there seem to be even more people? Maybe it’s the summer heat, but the line out the door almost every evening is kind of ridiculous.
I can’t blame them though because their ice cream rocks! They have lots of flavors that include mango, green tea, irish coffee, ginger, to name a few…
Definitely not your typical ice cream shop, but they also sell vanilla, mint-chocolate chip, chocolate, etc if you want something more familiar. And if you are wondering about where the ice cream comes from…wonder no more because they are made on premise. How cool is that!?!?
Not only that, Joe’s an indie. Meaning that it’s been a family owned and operated business for the past 51 years. According to their website, they have been in business since 1959.
So when you buy an ice cream from them, you are supporting local businesses instead of ice cream from some factory. And that’s what makes them so special. In fact, there’s a few more places like this in the SF area.
More of them will be featured here as we visit them in the coming weeks/months, so stay tuned.
Below, G’s holding a scoop of the Irish Coffee for me to photograph.
And the we ate it…more like lick, gulp, lick, crunch, Gone!
Total Yummo!!!
(Did I say “we ate it”? I really meant “I” ate it 😉 )
