About

I am not French and am not a Canadian though I would like to visit France one day and have been to Canada a few times. 🙂 Just adding this explanation because some people get confused about me and my blog due to the french name. By the way, I don’t really need to explain this, but the reason I named this blog la vie eclectique instead of in English is because that other one is taken and I don’t feel like buying it. Simple as that.
This is a personal blog about my beautiful life. In the beginning, this blog is about food and travel in the San Francisco Bay Area (sometimes beyond) and now, it’s much more…
Beyond… I would love to say that I have been everywhere by the time I am old. Lol. Very vague, no? 🙂 I hope to have traveled to all 7  (6 if you are being very scientific about this)  continents (Africa, Antarctica,  Asia, Australia, Europe, North America, and South America) and 50 States (within the US) before leaving this planet. By default, I am living in one now so I have 5.5 to go (.5 because I was really young when I was at another continent and don’t know if that really counts. 🙂 ) As for the 50 states, I have done 9, so I have 41 to go!

I am interested in a lot of things, so you will find that I have a variety of topics on my blog.

If you are reading this, thank you. I hope you will travel along and chime in any time you like.

Cheers-

Pictures from some of the places I visited…(L – R): Neighborhood park in Long Island, NY; Ferry Building in San Francisco, CA; Balboa Park in San Diego, CA; Biosphere in Montreal, Canada; train station in Quebec City, Canada; Fountain inside a historic home in the French Quarter, New Orleans, LA; Manhattan Beach Pier in Los Angeles, CA.

  7. Hello!

I’m a fellow restaurant food blogger who is somewhat new to the SF Bay area. I’m attempting to contact as many of the involved local bloggers as I can because I’m interested in starting a food-blogger group here in SF that’s based on a group I belonged to in Boston. This group was called the Boston Brunchers and we met once a month at a popular or new restaurant in Boston. The restaurant would offer us complementary brunch in exchange for our honest blog reviews about the food and establishment. We would only be required to post within two weeks of attending. It was a great opportunity for bloggers to network and get together with others who share their interests. It allowed bloggers, photographers, marketing gurus, journalists, communications professionals, and people representing so many more professions to come together and inspire each other, all while eating great food and helping promote a restaurant through doing what they love – eating and blogging about it.

Please email me with your email address or respond to this comment if you are interested in receiving more information, and if this sounds like something in which you’d be interested in participating.

Thanks so much for your time!

    Best, Isara

    • Hi Isara,
Thanks for contacting me. I am a little behind on a lot of things after not blogging for a while. I am currently pretty busy and won’t be able to do this but I may be interested in the future as I am always down for food! 🙂 I wish you well and I will visit your blog soon. Welcome to SF Bay Area 🙂

  8. Hello …

I was recently ‘told off’ by a blogger (not a follower I might add), who said my style of ‘welcome’ note was very much against blogging etiquette. Hmm, well I hope not to cause offence, but as you volunteered to become a follower of Uncle Spike’s Adventures, I just wanted to catch up and say “thank you, and that I appreciate your ‘follow’ as there are so many interesting and entertaining blogs out there.

Blogging since June 2013, my aim is to deliver an eclectic offering of posts, from my ‘point n shoot’ attempts at basic photography, to the sharing of my travel adventures over the decades, as well as day to day happenings here on our farm in Turkey. Oh, plus a few observations, opinions and lighter-hearted stuff thrown in for good measure.

I normally keep to a couple of posts a day, maybe 3-4 at weekends if I have something special to share. But if you are at a loose end one day, maybe you’ll enjoy trawling through some of my older stuff too. I have added plenty of categories to help in said digging process. That’s not me trying to be pushy or ‘spamming’, but just want you to know what I’m all about.

Thanks again and hope you have a great day…

    UNCLE SPIKE
